It’s no secret that Adele and Skepta have a long lasting friendship, but as both of their careers are reaching stratospheric levels, it’s nice to hear that they still keep in touch.

In his cover interview for this week's'ES Magazine', the Mercury Prize winner revealed that regular texts from Adele keep him grounded when things get a little bit hectic.

Speaking about his relationship with the ‘Hello’ singer, he said: “She texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going. She’s one of the people I know that, from her [example] alone, you can move in a certain way where you’re not inviting fame. She’s the biggest artist in the world and you do not see her in the papers [every day].”

It’s fair to say that they are two of the biggest exports from Tottenham, London (apart from the football team obvs) and with very similar approaches the stardom, and all the fame that comes with it, it must be nice to have someone going through a similar experience.

Things went from good to great for Skepta, 34, when he was announced as the winner of the Mercury Prize album of the year award for 'Konnichiwa'. However, his celebrations weren’t what you would have expected, speaking of the afterparty, he said: “I stayed for a little bit then I just went home, sat on a beanbag in my front room and just looked out of the window for, like, five hours.”

To be fair Skep, we’d definitely rather go home and sit on a comfy beanbag too.
