Is There A Way To Screenshot A Snapchat Without Anybody Knowing?
We tested the ultimate snapchat hack to let you screenshot a message or story without the person knowing. See how to do it at MTV.co.uk
One of the big things about Snapchat is that you can't screenshot stories or snaps without the person who sent them knowing.
In a way this is a useful safety feature for anyone who's got a load of randoms following them, but it also means that when bae sends you a mysterious snap, there's no way to get a screengrab of it to show your mates so they can help you work out exactly what he means by sending it to you.
That is potentially at least until now as there is a so-called hack going doing the rounds that will apparently let you grab people's snaps without them ever knowing.
HOWEVER, it's worth noting that we did put it to the test and have come to the conclusion that while it stops the owner of the snap knowing you screen-shotted right away, they will usually get a notification some time later, usually when you log back into Snapchat.
Snapchat is just too clever, which is annoying, but also good to know so that you don't fall victim to accidentally shotting all 50 snaps in the person you fancy's story thinking you'll get away with it without looking like a bit of a stalker in the process. Let it be known: you will look like a stalker.
Still considering giving it a go? Here's how to do it:
- Go to the snap you want to copy.
- Flip the menu up from the bottom of your phone and immediately put it on airplane mode.
- Take a screenshot as normal.
- Log out of Snapchat and make sure you fully close the app by double-clicking on the home button and swiping the app up so it disappears.
- Turn your phone back onto wi-fi, log back into Snapchat and go forth and snap freely.
It still won't work for us, so we'd say be careful not to try this on bae unless you've tried it and managed to get it to work first.
