Are SnapChat Working On A Feature To Make Your Selfies 3D?
Just when you thought there was little that could improve upon the double dog filter, it's been reported that Snapchat are planning to up their game even further with the newsthat they've just purchased some tech that might ultimately allow them to create a way for you to take selfies in 3D.
While this has been acquired on the downlow, TechCrunch are reporting that Snapchat have just bought a product called Seene, which is a piece of techno kit that's bestdescribed as a '3D photo app maker'.
There's no confirmation on how they plan to use it, but it's got people wondering ifthey are trialling the idea of rolling out 3D images on the app, whether that's through the lenses or selfie functions oreven throughvirtual reality formats.
In its current form, Seene works by scanning points on your face and then creates a 3D pic of you, sort of how characters appear in video games.
The future is officially here and we're not sure whether to be excited or scared. What do you reckon - want to see this on Snapchat?
