Hang On A Second, Does Snoop Dogg Think Game Of Thrones Is Real Life?
Well, it’s definitely more interesting than a History textbook.
Just when you thought Snoop Dogg couldn’t get any more incredible, he’s revealed that he likes to watch ‘Game of Thrones’ for ‘historical reasons’.
Oh yes, the Dog-father (who's even made a song dedicated to the programme) has kinda, sorta made it sound like he might think the dramatic show is based on real life. Who’s going to break the news to him about Harry Potter, then?
The rapper was chatting to the New York Post recently about his track ‘Lannister’s Anthem’, which is a part of the Catch The Throne mixtape, when he made some erm, confusing comments about the show.
He told the paper: "I watch it for historic reasons, to try to understand what this world was based on before I got here.
"I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now."
Ah yes, always good to swot up on the differences between the fire breathing dragons back then and the fire breathing dragons now.
One similarity Snoop DID point out was the fact that ‘kings still rule’ as they did back in GOT times. Well OK, we’ll give him that one.
To be fair to him, Game of Thrones George R R Martin has previously explained that his novels take bits of history as inspiration.
He told Entertainment Weekly that, “The Red Wedding is based on a couple real events from Scottish history.
“No matter how much I make up, there’s stuff in history that’s just as bad, or worse.”
We don’t reckon Snoop was referring to that when he made his comments, though. Can we just live in his brain please?
