Snoop Dodges Jail
The rap superstar gets five years probation and community service
Snoop Dogg has escaped a prison sentence on firearm and drugs charges.
The rap overlord, real name Calvin Broadus, pleaded no contest to the charges, which relate to the discovery of a gun and large amount of marijuana in his house in October, and has been sentenced to five years probation and 800 hours community service.
The judgement means Snoop dodges a jail sentence, which was a possibility.
The judge ordered that only half of Snoops community service could involve his football league that he has set up for underprivilidged youths. He also ordered that Snoops security staff could not be gang members.
And with reference to his penchant for weed, and Snoops lawyers claim that the rapper uses it for migranes, the judge stated that he must have a medical permit to use the drug.
If Snoop violates the terms of his probation, he will get doggy jail time.
