Disney Is Planning A New Live-Action Version Of Snow White
Hi-ho, hi-ho, to another Snow White adaptation we go, with Disney announcing that the classic fairy story will be its latest live-action remake. Not worried by the release of 'Mirror Mirror 'and two 'Snow White & The Huntsman 'films in recent years, the studio is pushing on with its own version of the story, some 80 years after the animated version first hit screens.
Expect fewer shirtless huntsman (booooooo) and bloodthirsty battle scenes this time out, with Disney aiming squarely for the family audience with this one. There will be musical numbers though, with songwriters Pasek and Paul (they of 'La La Land' and' Smash' fame) on board to pen the tunes.
The new Snow White movie will join a long line of classic properties currently in development over at Disney, as the studio goes all nostalgic over its back catalogue. Over the next few years we can look forward to shiny new versions of Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Winnie the Pooh, which should keep even the most rabid Disney fan happy.
No release date has been confirmed for this one as yet, but you can look forward to your next fix of fairytale goodness when Emma Watson’s 'Beauty And The Beast 'drops in March.
