Now that Sofia Richie and Scott Disick have essentially confirmed their relationship via just one Instagram pic, her dad has some words to say about the situation.

Yep, Lionel Richie has taken a break from being a Grammy winning legendand spoken to Us Weekly about his daughter dating someone 15 years older than her.

“Have I been in shock?! I'm the dad, come on,” he told the mag, adding: "I’m scared to death, are you kidding me?”

Rumours of Sofia and Scott being a real life thing first started doing the rounds earlier this year, when a snap of them looking cosy on a yacht found their way to TMZ. Only at that point Sofia tweeted: “Just so everyone can get their panties out of their asses,Scott and I are just homies #relax.”

But when the rumours came back for a second time just last month, it looked like things had escalated from homies to way more than that.

"Since returning to L.A., Scott and Sofia are inseparable. They are spending every day together. Sofia seems smitten," a source soon blabbed to People. "It's obvious that she looks up to Scott. She constantly giggles around him. They are very flirty."

But despite all of this we’ve still not heard actual real life words from either of them, and we have a feeling it might be some time before they're at red carpet appearance level
