Why Spencer Matthews left I’m A Celeb and who could replace him
Some answers. More questions.
We all know life in the I’m A Celeb jungle can be hard, but I think we were all pretty shocked when Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews left the show after just two days. But never fear, Spence is here to clear up exactly why he made such a swift exit.
In a brutally honest statement issued on his way home, Spencer confessed: "Shortly after I arrived in Australia I told the production team that I was taking a steroid-based medication that had begun some weeks ago.
"When I started taking this programme of pills it was in preparation for a charity boxing match which, ironically, never took place.
"Vanity, I suppose, had been the reason for wanting to bulk up a bit for the fight.
"I had intended to come off the pills gradually, but there was no time to do this before I reached the jungle.
"My admission to the production team that I was still taking these pills led to the conclusion that it would be unsafe for me to stay in the jungle - a decision which I found extremely hard to stomach.
"I pushed back but ultimately the show's duty of care prevailed and bags had to be packed."
We’re sorry, boo. Get better soon!
Spencer’s exit leaves a question mark hanging over the canopy – who will be drafted in to replace him? So far the front runners are…
The Union J star could be heading for a wild reunion with bandmate George Shelley if he’s drafted in to replace Spencer.
Spencer’s Made In Chelsea co-star is another fan favourite to head into the jungle. To be honest, we would love to see this.
A little more left field is frequent Ricky Gervais collaborator, Karl Pilkington. The star of An Idiot Abroad is no stranger to worldly experience, and may add to extra hilarity to the show.
Whoever goes in, we’re rooting for you!
