Considering Spencer Pratt uses Twitter and Snapchat like his very own confession booth, it’s surprising he doesn’t find himself in hot water more often.

But this time he’s managed just that, after replying to a tweet about Lauren Conrad’s Halloween outfit of choice for her child in a perhaps not quite sensitive enough manner.

Over the weekend a number of media outlets were fawning over her crazy cute son wearing a unicorn onesie, only Spencer was not much of a fan.

Replying to a tweet which asked the rhetorical question of if she could have picked a cuter costume, Spencer simply wrote: ‘Yes.’

And when a fan followed up with: ‘I live for salty Spencer,’ he added: ‘I’m just saying she tech could have picked cuter (sic).’

So of course everyone immediately took this as Spencer waging all out war at Conrad, what with them never having really seen eye to eye after that sex tape and a thousand other dramas on The Hills.

Alas he didn’t mean any harm over it, having since tweeted that he was simply answering the ‘costume question’ that the tweet asked.

‘No it was a costume question actually vogue Australia,’ he wrote.
