Brit Andrew Garfield Named As Spider Man

Earlier this year Tobey Maguire pulled out of the role with studio Sony deciding to ‘reboot’ the franchise.

 

Garfield previously starred in Boy A, Red Riding and Dr Who on British TV and also appeared in the The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

 

Spidey director Marc Webb- who helmed (500) Days Of Summer- said of the 26 year old actor:

 

“Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity.

 

“Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.”

 

Logan Lerman, Zac Efron, Robert Pattinson were all rumoured to be taking the role.
