Nintendo's New Amiibo Are Off The Hook… Literally!

Splatoon fans are going to want these right now. Here are all the details.

Nintendo has confirmed that the latest Splatoon 2 characters to be immortalised forever as awesome amiibos will be the duo, Pearl and Marina.

Performing together as Off the Hook (or Tentacles, as they're known in Japan), Pearl and Marina replace the Squid Sisters we rocked out with in the original Splatoon game, and represent both the Inklings and the Octolings. "These new amiibo are off the hook!" promises Nintendo.

As yet a release date has not been finalised, but Nintendo reckons they'll be available in stores "later this year."

While we're on the subject of all things Splatoon 2, did you see the screenshots of the latest basketball-themed stage coming to the game? WE CANNOT WAIT. Looks incredible, right?

"Goby Arena is a brand new stage coming to #Splatoon2 soon!" says Nintendo. "It's a state-of-the-art basketball arena with a food court, VIP seating and more."
