Star Trek Into Darkness will feature an appearance from Starfleet's traditional foes the Klingons, director JJ Abrams has revealed.
The filmmaker spilled the beans in an interview with MTV in the US, although he remained coy on what the furrow-browed aliens would be getting up to.
"We had shot some stuff that had Klingons in [our first Star Trek film], and we cut the scene," he told us. "It's a deleted scene on the DVD. But they're back in this one.
"Their role in this is definitely adversarial," he teased, "and you'll see how that plays out."
The main villain of the movie will be Benedict Cumberbatch's mysterious John Harrison - who was featured in [uuid=1c5963ee-e1c1-4b47-8b7d-8feb35b8981d]a new motion poster[/uuid] released this week.
