At massive annual Star Wars convention Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, the cast of the Episode Eight were on hand to reveal all the deets in a special Star Wars: The Last Jedi panel – before unveiling the first trailer for the movie which you can watch RIGHT NOW.

Here’s all the new info that will have you counting down the days until the movie hits cinemas on 15 December 2017.

1. Carrie Fisher’s Performance Will Make You Feel Feelings

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said during the panel of the late Carrie Fisher’s iconic role as General Leia Organa in the film: ‘The performance she ends up giving, you guys are going to find that an amazing tribute to her talent.“ Tissues at the ready.

2. There Will Be Lots Of BB-8 In This Movie

Rian Johnson revealed, “The best advice I got was, ‘You cant have enough BB-8.’ He’s the Buster Keaton of this movie.” We can’t wait for more droid LOLs from the cheeky little unit.

Kelly Marie Tran will play Rose: a maintenance worker who is part of the resistance “I can’t wait for you to meet her,” said the actor at the panel for The Last Jedi.

Rian Johnson added, “She’s pretty rad. For me growing up, I was watching Luke Skywalker be this unlikely hero – the notion that anyone can step out of where they are and become a hero – Rose isn’t a soldier, she’s not looking to be a hero. She gets pulled into this adventure with Finn and Kelly just embodies that.”

Speaking on the panel hosted by Josh Gad, who voices Olaf in Frozen, Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson and Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill looked to his fellow stars and said, “I look around and I see Olaf, Wonder Woman (Kennedy), God (Johnson),” and then jokingly added, “My daught-- I mean my colleague, Daisy!”

6. Mark Hamill Has Written His Own Backstory For Luke Skywalker

Hamill revealed, “In Episode 7, you discover Luke is a hermit on this island and there’s so much unsaid about where he’s been and what he’s done.”

“Actors like to write their own backstories… I made it up myself and tried to show it to JJ Abrams, but he basically patted me on the head, gave me a cookie and made me go away.”

9. Carrie Fisher Worked On Rewriting The Script

Writer–director Rian Johnson revealed that as well as starring in the new movie, Carrie Fisher worked on rewriting the script with him: “I love her so much man, and I connected with her first and foremost as a writer.”

“She’s a brilliant writer with an incredible mind. I’d go to her house and we’d sit on her bed for hours going through the script, and we’d have these stream of consciousness, jazz poetry-style ad lib sessions and at the end of it we’d have this four word line of dialogue which was the distillation of that.”

10. Rey Meeting Luke Might Be A Disaster

‘I actually can tell you some things,” Daisy Ridley teased some details of what will happen in the new movie, after Rey meets Luke at the end of The Force Awakens, “In The Last Jedi we go deeper into Rey’s story.”

“What is very apparent from where we left off is Rey has a certain expectation as to what she might be getting from Luke and what that might entail… and as many people know, it’s difficult when you meet your heroes as it might not be what you expect,” revealed Ridley, “That’s quite a lot right?”

11. Finn Will Recover!

John Boyega revealed that our fave ex-stormtrooper will be on the mend after his injuries in The Force Awakens, “Finn definitely stood up for himself and caught an injury to the back. He's recovering... He's not playing this time!”
