Is Hunger Games Star Sam Claflin Set To Lead Star Wars Spin-Off?

British actor reportedly in casting talks for Rogue One...

He's already a pretty big star thanks to playing hunky Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games movies, but Sam Claflin's career could be about to go interstellar if casting rumours are correct.

The 28-year-old Brit is reported by The Sun to be in the frame as the male lead for the eagerly awaited Star Wars: Rogue One.

If he did land the role, the movie would become a full-on British invasion - since it's being directed by Godzilla's Gareth Edwards and already has Felicity Jones as a female lead.

Set before Star Wars: A New Hope, Edwards recently revealed that the film will be about a time in which there were no Jedi.

"It’s about the fact that God's not coming to save us," he stated. "We're on our own — and we have to do this ourselves and turn around.

"The absence of the Jedi is omnipresent — it hangs over the whole movie — and it comes down to a group of individuals that don't have magical powers but have to somehow bring hope to the galaxy."

JJ Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit cinemas this December.
