JJ Abrams Hints At More Star Wars Cast Announcements

The director teases more casting news in a video message...

JJ Abrams has hinted that more casting announcements will be made for Star Wars: Episode VII.

The new film's director shared the message in a self-taken video with fellow Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan.

The two marked Star Wars Day (4 May) with a 'video-selfie' for fans.

Abrams mentions that casting announcements are set to continue as production of the new film continues in London.

It was announced earlier this week that original Star Wars actors such as Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew would be returning for the new movie.

New cast members also include John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Andy Serkis.

Abrams' message wasn't the only surprise for Star Wars fans over the weekend.

College Humour released a parody video which featured some familiar musicians auditioning for a part in the franchise.

Jordin Sparks, 'Weird Al' Yonkovic and Chris Daughtry were amongst the famous faces featured in the video.

The stars don their best Star Wars outfits in the sketch as they audition to be part of the Mos Eisley Cantina band from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to open worldwide on 18 December 2015.
