JJ Abrams 'Not Committed To 2015 Star Wars Release'

Release date for Episode VII could slip now director is on board...

The planned release date of 2015 for a new Star Wars movie could slip now that directorJJ Abrams is on board, it has been reported.
The Star Trek filmmaker was last week [uuid=d800de53-8c87-4fd6-a117-7ab97dec2bac]confirmed to have signed up[/uuid] to direct Episode VII in the sci-fi franchise, but The Hollywood Reporter claims that he is not committed to the original schedule.
THR claims that Abrams "has not committed to that release date, meaning the date could be changed if the development process requires it."
He is reported to have refused to meet Paramount's original 2012 release date for his forthcoming movie Star Trek Into Darkness, which will now be released later this year.
And the director has finally broken his silence on his new gig, telling E! Online: "It really is an incredible thing.
"It's wildly surreal. It's obviously way too early to talk specifics but I'm excited to actually start it."
