'Open Casting Sessions' For Star Wars Lead Roles
Sessions reportedly being held around UK in search for female and male leads...
Open casting sessions are to be held for two of the lead roles in the forthcoming Star Wars Episode VII movie, it has been reported.
The BBC claims that sessions will be held at a number of locations around the British Isles, including London, Dublin and Glasgow.
The roles are apparently described as being a "street smart and strong" orphaned girl in her late teens and a "smart capable" man in his late teens or early 20s.
First announced on the @UKopencall Twitter account, the sessions were described as a "nationwide search for lead roles for a Disney movie".
Lucasfilm has declined to comment, but the BBC claims that the roles have been given "non sci-fi names" in order to attempt to hide the fact that they are for the Star Wars movie.
The movie, being directed by JJ Abrams, will begin production next spring at Pinewood Studios.
A casting call for a wookiee was thought to have been issued last month.
