Star Wars Episode VII Release Date Revealed

Long-awaited sci-fi sequel set to hit cinemas in time for Christmas 2015...

Star Wars fans have just over two years to wait until they will be able to see the next instalment of the movie franchise.
The release date for JJ Abrams' eagerly awaited Star Wars Episode VII has been set for 18 December, 2015.
It was a tradition to release Star Wars movies on 4 May (May the fourth be with you), but the new movie had been scheduled for the summer of 2015.
However it now seems to have slipped back even further, with reports emerging about writing hold-ups.
Disney chairman Alan Horn said: "We're very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary film-making team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture."
And JJ Abrams has told Deadline that scriptwriter Michael Arndt's recent departure had allowed Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan to take a more prominent role.
"It became clear that given the time frame and given the process and the way the thing was going that working with Larry in this way was going to get us where we need to be and when we needed to be.
"Working with Larry Kasdan, especially on a Star Wars movie is kind of unbeatable."
But the Lost creator only had kind words for the departed writer.
"Working with Michael was a wonderful experience and I couldn't be a bigger fan of his or adore him more, he's a wonderful guy and was incredibly helpful in the process.
"[The current situation] doesn't preclude working with Michael again in the future. He is one of the best writers around."
