From Co-Directing to Choreography, Stefflon Don Gives Us the Inside Scoop on Her 'Hurtin' Me' Video
The Top 10 rapper takes us behind the scenes of 'Hurtin' Me'...
Stefflon Don is having a moment right now. Not only was her Jax Jones and Demi Lovato collaboration 'Instruction' one of the songs of the summer but her single 'Hurtin' Me' with French Montana is brilliant and it just became her first UK Top 10 hit.
We caught up with Steff recently to give us her exclusive MTV Laid Bare commentary of the 'Hurtin Me' video.
Steff opens the clip saying: "I feel like I'm always involved in the production of the edits, even clothing wise."
She then goes on to speak about her own history with the model in the video "Lentini is a Dutch model and I've actually known him since I was little, like maybe nine, ten [...] Never used to hang around with him or anything just seen him around the area."
"And then he was in LA and we actually did a couple castings for the video but they came with bus driver looking people and I was like no, I'm trying to get a model." Steff adds before revealing that she "asked Lentini to do it and of course he said yes."
Steff also discusses her hair in the visual: "I thought let me go for something a bit sexy, a bit blonde, a bit long".
And talks a bit about what it was like to dance in the video: "I've never actually done choreography before."
The Jeremih collaborator also mentions: "I got my girl Parris to do it. And Parris also has done numerous stuff. She's worked with Justin Bieber on the 'Sorry' video and she also ended up playing the model at the end, the new girlfriend with Lentini."
Amazing. We love seeing two multi-talented legends on screen together in an incredible music video.
