X Factor Boy Band Stereo Kicks Go Their (Eight) Separate Ways

Talent show's biggest ever group decides to call it a day...

They were the biggest group ever to grace the live shows on The X Factor - but now Stereo Kicks are sadly no more.

The eight-strong boy band have decided to go their separate ways - less than a year after they were put together by Simon Cowell after auditioning individually for the show.

Announcing the news on their Facebook page, they said: "Hey Everybody, Let us start by saying what an AMAZING year it has been for all of us!

"As most of you know, we created Stereo Kicks during X Factor 2014. We all started off as solo artists and were then fortunate enough to be brought together in the boot camp stages of the show. Since then our lives have changed dramatically, and for the better! With your help we have headlined our own tour and seen our single Love me So (written by the band) reach number 12 in the midweek charts!

"We started the process alone and became one. Family is often an overused word, but in the last twelve months we have become one!

"That is why this next part is hard…

"We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually.

"We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band. Please understand that there is nothing more that you could have done and that this is a situation completely beyond both your control and ours. We have considered endless ways of how we might try to make this work, but it is logistically impossible for us to continue as Stereo Kicks.

"From the bottom of our hearts, we will be forever grateful for all of your hard work, support and love. We can't thank you enough.

"Stereo Kicks has been, and always will be, a HUGE part of our lives. We still remain the BEST of friends and will continue to support each other in everything we do.

"The experience we have had is truly indescribable and it is mostly down to YOU! Our fans! Without your support and loyalty, we wouldn't have achieved half of what we have... you really have been the BEST FANS EVER!!

"Although this is really sad for us, we felt that we wanted to end on a high. You guys have been with us every step of the way and have been the first to hear our news, and we wanted to keep it that way!

"So, we want to say goodbye as Stereo Kicks properly….

"Our final performance together will be this Saturday, July 25, at Thorpe Park. We would LOVE to see you there. This show is for you!

"Thank you all so much for EVERYTHING! We Love you! #‎SKArmy‬ Forever

"So, goodbye – For now ; )

"Tom, James, Barclay, Jake, Chris, Reece, Casey, Charlie xxxxxxxx"

After making it to the eighth week of the live shows, the band saw their first single reach No 31 in the Official UK Singles Chart in July.
