Abbey Clancy Wins Strictly 2013
Model 'shocked' as she takes home the glitterball trophy...
Strictly Come Dancing 2013, taking home the glitterball trophy after an emotional final on Saturday (21 December).
The model and TV presenter was stunned to hear that she had won the series with professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec, saying: "I just can't believe it. It's mad. My little girl will just love this. I'm so shocked."
Aljaz, who won with Abbey on his very first series of the dancing show, added: "I can't believe it. What a journey, I can only thank you, [Abbey], you've been incredible."
Clancy had faced serious competition in the all-female final, from soap star Natalie Gumede, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and newsreader Susanna Reid - the hot favourite going into the final.
With Sophie eliminated after finishing in fourth place, it looked as though Natalie would be hard to beat, as she and Artem Chigvintsev topped the leaderboard with a score of 119.
But it was the viewers' votes that counted on the night, and Clancy deservedly took the title.
Gracious in defeat, a tearful Natalie Gumede said of her time on Strictly: "It's been so emotional and incredible, and the best experience of my life."
And Susanna said: "I'm going to miss it so much. The greatest prize for me was dancing with Kevin [Clifton]. I felt like a winner every day, so thank you so much for dancing with me."
Abbey Clancy - the 11th Strictly champion - vowed to carry on dancing after the show.
