Russell Brand has been confirmed to host the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on 3rd June.
The funnyman is set to follow in the footsteps of previous hosts Ben Stiller, Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake, as he will take to the MTV Movie Awards stage to front the ceremony for the first time at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
Speaking of the event, Russell claimed: "This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers and you won't have to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out."
Stephen Friedman, President of MTV, also said of the 36-year old's involvement: "With his amazing ability to span the full spectrum of comedy from the most high to lowbrow, Russell's smart, unpredictable wit uniquely connects him to our audience,
"His rock-n-roll sensibility and fearlessness give us the perfect partner with whom to take a leap of faith with as we meld the worlds of movies and music together on one very special night."
Brand is no stranger to playing host for the night, after previously fronting the MTV VMAs in 2008 - making such a good impression, that he was asked back the next year.
The news comes following the announcement of the first golden-popcorn presenters at the star-studded bash, with Twilight actress Kristen Stewart, Avengers hunk Chris Hemsworth and Mila Kunis all confirmed.
