Going to university for the first time can be stressful. A horrible combination of moving in with new people, not knowing anyone well enough to have them hold your hair back after a heavy night and the slow realisation that no one is going to make you a cup of tea when you’re feeling worse for wear can be more than a little bit distressing. However, with the help of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé et al, we believe you’ll get through it just fine...
Okay, so it’s inevitable that you’re going to drink too much in your first week, but as Swifty says, “SHAKE IT OFF” because you’ll have to start all over again in the morning.
Make the most of going cray at a club, because as soon as that work hits, it won’t be so fun anymore. But then again, try not to embarrass yourself, as not many of us are graced with a booty like Nicki’s.
Hoes before bros (and vice-versa, boys), because no matter how hot that guy in da club is, nobody likes a ditcher.
However, if your friend does hook up, try not to pull a face.
Find your nearest takeaway as soon as possible, because you’ll probably be better friends with the delivery man than you are with most of your flatmates.
Try to not spend the first night on the phone to your mum begging for her to pick you up, okay?
There will be a lot of dressing up, and everyone really does go all out, so get used to it.
Beer goggles are a thing and so are vodka goggles. Be warned.
