Singer-songwriter, mulit-instumentalist and all-round boy wonder Sufjan Stevens has just announced details of his forthcoming new album The Age Of Adz (pronounced 'odds').
After the recent surprise release of the All Delighted People EP, Stevens' first full-length collection of original songs since 2005’s civic pop opus Illinois drops on October 12 on CD and download, and November 9 on vinyl.
The album, which is being released on Steven's own Asthmatic Kitty label, apparently contains less of the acoustic and orchestral instrumentation used on Stevens' more recent albums, and instead has more in common with 2003's loop based electronic album Enjoy Your Rabbit.
The album also takes concentrates on Stevens himself lyrically for a change, and features much more personal songwriting than his previous narrative works.
