Sugababes songstress Amelle Berrabah has been arrested for allegedly attacking a womans car.

The incident happened at Amelles sisters house where there was an alleged fracas with a neighbour.

Sugababes manager Mark Hargreaves told MTV News: I can confirm that in the morning of Thursday 10th January '08 Amelle Berrabah, was helping police with their investigation into an allegation of criminal damage to a vehicle.

The allegation is being strenuously denied. No charges have been brought against Amelle and she was released on bail pending further investigations.

According to 'The Mirror' newspaper the singer was held by Police for four hours. They also claim her place in the girl-band is under threat. However the group denied this:

Amelle continues to enjoy the full support of her management, her record company and her bandmates, said Hargreaves.

Her short time in the Sugababes has been dogged by controversy. Her boyfriend Feddue Fuller was recently the victim of a knife attack and has previously been accused of raping Amelles sister.

Berrabah was also arrested in April 2007 for an alleged assault in a bar.
