Mutya Quits Sugababes
But girl band promise to bravely soldier on... with a new member!
Mutya Buena has left the Sugababes, it was announced this morning.
With just one founding member, Keisha Buchanan, remaining you'd think that would be the end of the UK's most credible girl band. But you'd be wrong. The girls' management clearly haven't had enough and by the end of today a replacement will be announced.
We kid you not.
Heidi Range famously joined the band in 2002 when third founding member Siobhan Donaghy left blaming depression and in-fighting.
Mutya gave birth to a daughter, Tahlia, in March this year. In a statement on the band's website she says: "I've enjoyed an unbelievable career so far and I'm so proud of what we've achieved with Sugababes over the years. My decision to leave the band at this point is based purely on my personal reasons. It was very difficult but definitely not a snap decision."
So who will replace her? Our money's on Michelle McManus
