Nintendo has released a new footie-fantastic teaser trailer for its upcoming sports game, Mario Sports Superstars.

This all-new trailer focuses on football (or soccer, if you’re still in Superbowl-mode!), which is one of five playable modes available in the game that include baseball, golf, horse racing, and tennis.

I know - it’s kind of amazing how spritely a chunky plumber and a host of his favourite (and not so favourite!) friends can be on the pitch, right? Just look at ‘em go! (Here’s hoping no-one kicks the ball onto Bowser’s spikes, though…)

Each player can unleash their own signature move, and as well as getting into the action on the pitch, you can also become a “tactical master” by getting involved behind the scenes, too, with chances to tweak your attack and defense formations by actively managing your team.

All modes offer both local and online multiplayer options, as well as single-player tournaments.

Mario Sports Superstars will release on Nintendo 3DS on March 10 in Europe, March 24 in North America, and March 30 in Japan.
