Amy Adams: My Lois Lane Will Have Red Hair
Actress says her character in Man Of Steel is getting rebooted too...
Amy Adams has discussed her forthcoming role as Lois Lane in Superman movie reboot Man Of Steel - and her hair colour in particular.
Speaking to USA Today, the Oscar-nominated actress explained that Lois would be getting a makeover in the film, with director Zack Snyder's blessing.
"This was a new idea, down to the hair colour," she said. "I knew people would want to talk about my hair colour. It was going to be a thing.
"Zack told me he didn't hire me to play someone else. He hired me to play Lois Lane. It's a whole reimagining."
But she also admitted that she was an admirer of Margot Kidder's performance as the character in the original Superman movies.
"I grew up really loving (her)," she continued. "I wasn't trying to be her, but I hope I do enough of a good job to have the same effect on young girls as Lois Lane had on me.
"I really loved seeing a woman represented as a modern woman in a superhero movie, and not even glamourised, really - she was kind of a troublemaker. She wasn't a typical heroine. I identified with her from a very young age."
The film is scheduled for release on 14 June next year.
