Bryan Cranston Denies He's Got Lex Luthor Role

Batman in the movie follow-up, which is expected to be titled Superman vs Batman.

He was asked about the rumours by Boston.com while giving an interview to promote his new play All The Way.

"This is all news to me," he said. "I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I'm known to be bald. 'What bald guy can we get?'

"The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him."

And the 57-year-old was dismissive of the idea that he might call Gene Hackman - who played Luthor in the earlier Superman movies - for advice.

"I can just see how that phone call would go," he said.

"Gene? Hi, this is Bryan Cranston.' 'Who? Bryan Cranston? What do you want? How did you get this number?'"

The Man Of Steel sequel will open on 17 July, 2015.
