Henry Cavill: 'Warcraft Almost Cost Me Superman'
Star says he ignored job offer call because he was playing on computer...
Henry Cavill has claimed that his passion for computer game World Of Warcraft could have cost him the chance to play Superman.
The British actor told GQ magazine - on which he is the latest cover star - that he was so engrossed in the massive role-playing game that he decided not to take a call from the movie's director.
He said: "I saw it was [Snyder calling] but the thing is, you can't save World of Warcraft, you can't pause it. It's live."
Fortunately the job offer was still valid when he finished his session and gave Zack Snyder a call back.
And it seems that he might have been spending too much time on the PC, because in the same interview he also claims that he was too porky to fit in the famous skin-tight costume properly.
"It was totally embarrassing. I wasn't in training. I wasn't feeling fit or looking good. You put on a Lycra suit and it does not help it."
He also expressed his irritation at actors who claim they're not in it for the money - claiming they are "mad or lying".
"I mean, come on - 'Oh, no, don't pay me anything, it's for the arts'. I'm sorry, no! Pay me the money.
"I'm not doing it for charity. I'm not a non-profit organisation. Plus, it's expensive flying back and forward to LA. You need a job that pays!"
Man Of Steel hits cinemas on 14 June.
Cavill is also featured on the front of Empire magazine this month.
