Man Of Steel Has Heroic Opening Weekend
Superman movie reboot starts strong in cinemas in the UK and US...
Man Of Steel has enjoyed a successful opening weekend in cinemas on both sides of the Atlantic - notching up the biggest opening day of the year so far in the UK.
The Superman movie reboot, directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, has already taken more than £125m worldwide since its release.
Just under £80m of that was from the US market, with £3.3m on its first day in the UK alone - putting it ahead of Iron Man 3 for the biggest first day of 2013 so far.
Apparently it has become the biggest June opening of all time in the US, with figures buoyed by the higher price of 3D cinema tickets.
It was recently confirmed that a sequel is already in the pipeline at Warner Brothers.
And a pair of new TV trailers have also just been released, with Russell Crowe and Michael Shannon taking the limelight this time.
The film had its UK premiere in London last week.
