A 23-year old man has been arrested in connection with a series of stabbings at Swedish House Mafia's show at Phoenix Park, Dublin on Saturday (7th July).

The rest of the victims after thought to have been hurt by knives and broken bottles during the incident.

Three people were said to be seriously injured, while another is thought to be in a critical condition.

Denis Desmond, managing director of concert promoters MCD, said of the incident: "Ticket holders entering the site were subject to a search permissible by law.

"Every precaution, as far as possible, was taken to ensure the safety and security of the audience at all times."

He added: "Despite our best efforts - with security and gardaí [police] personnel levels well in excess of the required numbers for a licensed event of this size - there is only so much one can do to combat anti-social behaviour."
