MTV Review: Take That Shine For Fans At Apple Music Festival

They proved they've most definitely still got it...

Take That proved they are still at the top of their game at last night's (September 20) Apple Music Festival show.

Now a three piece, the band sounded better than ever as they pleased the crowd with a hit filled set spanning their 25 year career.

Some fans even camped outside Camden's Roundhouse from the early hours of Sunday morning to ensure they got right to front to see their heroes in the intimate venue.

For Take That, this is their first time playing at the Roundhouse, and the first time in a while that they're playing anywhere 'but' a stadium. As Gary Barlow said at last night's show: "This is a beautiful venue - we don't get to play these places enough. It's nice to have you so close." Aww.

The Support Act:

Charlie Puth had the huge job of warming up the crowd and with this being only his second time in UK, he absolutely nailed it.

The 23-year-old performed to the packed venue with a selection of songs including the two hits that kick-started his career - the first of those being the incredibly catchy 'Marvin Gaye'. The number one hit got the crowd going and even included a crazy beat-box section in place of Meghan Trainor's verse - the boy sure ismulti-talented!

He also put his own spin on Calvin Harris' new single 'How Deep Is Your Love' which went down an absolute treat.

Finally, he finished his set with a heartwarming story behind his track 'See You Again', a tribute to the late Paul Walker and the song in the closing credits for Fast & Furious 7.

The Headliner:

After Apple Music's signature countdown, Take That's (huge) band took to the stage, soon followed by Mark Owen, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald, the remaining three members of Take That.

They bounded onto the stage and straight in with a high energy performance of the 2006 hit 'Shine' followed by 'Greatest Day' and 'Get Ready For It'.

A moment that was truly special was when the band played 'Patience'.Gary introduced the song saying: "This is the song that bought us back after all those years."

In the middle of theirhit-filled set Mark and Howard propped themselves up on stools around Gary on the piano for an intimate piano medley of two of their most well-loved songs, 'A Million Love Songs' and 'Babe', before jumping back up and into the high energy of 'Back For Good' and 'The Flood.

One thing that matched the energy of their performance was the stage set up. Jam-packed with memorabilia from across the years it was one of the brightest and most colourful sets we've ever seen.

Fave Moment:

Without a doubt our favourite moment was the choreographed boy-band dance routine in their performance of'These Days'. The guys, now all in their 40s, have dance moves that would rival the likes of One Direction. It was INCREDIBLE!
