Take That’s statement said: "We are truly devastated to have had to cancel tonight's show in Denmark. This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band. It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonised over.

"On Friday night, Rob suffered serious food poisoning from something he had eaten after the show. He was violently ill all night and well into the morning. At 10am [on Saturday] morning, he decided to relocate to his dressing room at the stadium, in the hope that he could recover and prepare for the show.

"Doctors visited him twice during the day and despite prescribed medication he was still vomiting at 4pm. The doctor insisted that he was not fit to perform."

The lads added that they were “truly sorry” to those who had bought tickets and said that Robbie was concentrating on getting better for their concert in Amsterdam on Monday.

No word yet on whether the Copenhagen gig will be rescheduled for a later date.
