Take That Back In Studio As Five-Piece

Gary and Robbie dispel concerns that the Rock DJ star’s stint in the group will be short-lived…

Gary Barlow has spoken out to allay fans’ fears that Take That, following the songwriter’s admission that he considered the group to be a four-piece.

“I want it to be that [Robbie] can be here whenever he wants and when he doesn't want to we'll be back as a four-piece. If Rob wants to go and be solo then great, but please come back one day. I want to make it that fluid," Gary told BBC Radio 2.

“We can exist and be successful as a four-piece band. Right now we are a five-piece band and we don't really know where that's going to at this point,” he added. “We're actually back recording right now, new songs. I don't think it's going to be a new record, I think it’s going to be an addition.

“I don't think we feel like we'd said it all when we got to the end of this record and we want to add to it, so we're already back writing and recording as a five-piece again.”

Robbie used a video message recorded for Gary’s 40th birthday party to confirm he would be taking part in Take That’s Progress tour which starts in May.

''I'm really looking forward to seeing you, I miss you,'' Rob said. ''And just want to put your mind at ease about the tour – I know you're worried about my mental health. Well, I'm on meds, everything is fine, everything will be really cool. Love you loads.''
