Take That £15M Fake Ticket Scam

Bogus websites tipped to make millions by selling fake tickets…

Fake websites could make an estimated £15m selling counterfeit tickets to Take That’sRobbie Williamsin 16 years, means that tickets are already being offered for up to 20 times their original value.

One fan spoke to The Sun of her anger as touts queued up alongside fans at Wembley Stadium last Friday. "People were allowed to buy up to eight tickets in one go, which is fair," she said. “But there were loads of people who were clearly touts and not fans who were snapping them up. There was one group of about 10 touts who were able to buy 80 tickets between them. It's unfair on the real fans.”

Even the government has got involved; Business Secretary Vince Cable warned punters to stay away from unfamiliar ticket sellers: “No one should get ripped off by scam websites. Take That fans who think they may have been scammed should contact Consumer Direct for advice.”
