Katy Perry Proves That Her Feud With Taylor Swift Is Officially Over
Katy Perry has proved that her longstanding feud with Taylor Swift is officially dead after praising her recent decision to voice her political beliefs in public.
The pair have clearly moved past the argument they once had over backing dancers that came to an end when Katy sent Taylor a literal olive branch at the start of her 'Reputation' tour.
In an interview with Variety at the amfAR Gala on Thursday, the 33-year-old spoke up about Taylor’s decision to endorse two Democratic congressional candidates on Instagram and said that her one time enemy is “setting a great example” to fans in encouraging them to vote.
Back in 2014, the Bad Blood singer had opened up about her feud with an unspecified pop star: “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," Swift said. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'
“[Then] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business...She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”
Last year, Katy gave an interview to James Corden in which she said: “There's a situation [between me and Swift]. For sure, that's true. There's a situation. Honestly, it's really like she started it, and it's time for her to finish it."
