New Music Round-up: Taylor Swift Ft. Brendon Urie, Stormzy, Zara Larsson And More
T Swift and Stormzy are back. Need we say more?
This week we’ve got new music from all your favourite artists. With collaborations from Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie, P!nk and Khalid, plus all new Stormzy, and even Zara Larsson making an appearance, all genres are coming at you with new tracks this Friday.
Here are our top picks you need to add to your playlists:
Taylor Swift Ft. Brendon Urie - ME!
This is the upbeat, dizzyingly addictive pop anthem that we just know is going to be on everyone’s playlists this summer. With lyrics that make you feel proud to be a little bit crazy and weird, a bridge you just HAVE to chant, and Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie giving you a little spelling lesson (although very inaccurate), it’s clear that they’ve brought the heat with this track.
Stormzy - Vossi Bop
He’s BACK, people! Bringing us a fresh and original sound (because there’s no one quite like him), Stormzy is here with a move that everyone’s going to be doing this summer. Always the GOAT, there’s even an appearance from Idris Elba, and Stormzy somehow manages to shut down London town in this music video. Legends only.
Mahalia - Grateful
Is there a voice more soothing than Mahalia’s? Taking us under her spell in this smooth and sultry bop, the singer is asking for total honesty in this track. Putting that feeling of total infatuation into words, the singer has captured something special, and no one else can touch it.
Bastille - Doom Days
In a modern reflection of the society we live in, Bastille are questioning why we’re a generation obsessed with our phones and others perception of us. Asking us to step out of the internet’s echo chamber, the group successfully provide an escape from reality, and sound damn good whilst doing so.
Lauv - Drugs & The Internet
In the first single from his debut album, Lauv is taking us into the world of internet stardom and how it’s really, in the end, not as glamorous as everyone believes it to be. With catchy hooks and a bridge that will have us contemplating life at 3am, he successfully starts off a new era for himself, and we can’t wait to hear more.
Zara Larsson - WOW
Queen of dropping iconic pop songs with new promo? In this upbeat pop bop about love in its rawest form, we are feeling extremely jealous of Zara beau that’s in utter admiration of her just sitting on the couch. Anyone want to admire us at our worst, guys? We thought not...
FKA twigs - Cellophane
In this song about unrequited love, FKA twigs makes her return for the first time in 3 years, and you should probably grab a box of tissues. With a music video that accompanies featuring her majestically pole dancing, a fall from grace, and an attempt to rebuild yourself after a break up, she successfully portrays the feelings of rejection from the one you love most.
Martin Garrix Ft. Macklemore & Patrick Stump - Summer Days
Is there anything more dreamy than being in love in summer? In this song that captures that feeling of being with your favourite person in the perfect setting, we feel like we’re watching the sunset in 30 degree heat when this song is blasting.
The Chainsmokers Ft. Ty Dolla $ign & bülow - Do You Mean
Do The Chainsmokers ever not provide undeniably catchy bops? In this song off their brand new EP ‘World War Joy… Do You Mean’, the duo have teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign and bülow for this confrontational track, and it’s straight fire.
Two Door Cinema Club - Satellite
Following on from their ‘Talk’ track, Two Door Cinema Club have released an indie pop anthem for all those that stay raging till their the last ones standing at parties. Leaving us feeling retro and ready to dance, it’s clear the group have delivered yet again.
Wilkinson Ft. Karen Harding - All For You
With Karen Harding’s powerful vocals and lyrics that are equally as passionate, layered over Wilkinson’s magical beats, this track is the club anthem we’ll be screaming at 2am.
Isaac Waddington - Hit The Ceiling
In this feelgood bop, Isaac Waddington is making us feel motivated and ready to face the world. He’s feeling better than he’s ever felt, and sounding better than he’s ever sounded.
Don Diablo & Jessie J - Brave
In this song about being ready to get up on your feet and combat your fears, Jessie J is feeling brave and badder than ever in this track.
Kim Petras - Broken
Kim Petras is getting the last word in this song. Wishing karma on the one who’s hurt her most, the singer is up and over it, well… nearly. She may have forgiven, but she won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
Lany & Julia Michaels - okay
Channeling their emotions of sudden heartbreak, the duo are teaming up to hold each other's hand when it gets hard, and this song is their virtual way of holding ours too. With lyrics that capture that the deterioration of a relationship and in turn your mental state, the duo reassure us that we’ll be okay. Right?
DJ Snake, Offset, 21 Savage, Sheck Wes, Gucci Mane - Enzo
Collab to end all collabs? These iconic acts have teamed up for the hip-hop crossover we didn’t know we needed. With bars that we know we’ll be rapping too as loud as we can whenever it comes on, this is sure to be a banger for the summer.
Jvck James - Fall Free
In this smooth R&B tune, Jvck James has us free falling into his hands, and we’re obsessed with his ability to make us feel like we’re floating whenever he comes on shuffle.
Valeras - Your Honey
Valeras are making it clear that they can stand on their own two feet in this song. With hardcore instrumentals and a chorus that screams girl power, the group are making a name for themselves in the world of rock music.
Afrojack, Jewelz & Sparks, Emmalyn - Switch
Dutch giant Afrojack takes things in a moodier direction this teaming up with Emmalyn and Jewelez & Sparks on the stomping ’Switch’.
P!nk - Hurts 2B Human
After winning the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the BRITs 2019, P!nk has dropped an album full of bangers for every possible mood. Including her hits ‘Walk Me Home’, ‘Can We Pretend’, and ‘Hurts 2B Human’ featuring Khalid, it’s an album that sees the artist try something different in terms of her sound, but those lyrics that make her the P!nk we love still ever present.
Catfish and the Bottlemen - The Balance
CatB3 is here, folks. Including the singles ‘Longshot’, ‘Fluctuate’ and ‘2all’, the band are riding that sound that makes them pure indie-brilliance all the way into 2019, and, as always, we’re loving it.
MARINA – LOVE + FEAR
Back with part two of her ‘Love + Fear’ album, MARINA is giving us more songs that dig deep into our feels and leave us wanting to have a DMC with someone on a roof at 3am. It might be just the beginning of her solo career, but it feels like we’ve known her forever.
