Taylor Swift Breaks Nearly All The Records With 1989 Album Sales

So T-Swizzle's having a pretty good year, what with her album blowing all the others out of the water...!

Taylor Swift's poptastic new album 1989 has already become the first record this year to achieve platinum status, despite having only been out for a week.

The LP will debut at the top of the US Billboard chart after selling a whopping 1.287 million copies last week, marking the largest single week sales for one album since Eminem's'The Eminem Show' back in 2002, which sold just over 1.3 million.

This amount of record sales brings with it a few new records that 1989 has broken, including becoming the best-selling album to be released in 2014.

T-Swift has also become the only act to earn three million-selling weeks with an album, as well asbecoming the only woman to have three albums sell over one million copies in one week.

Despite it's greatness, 1989 has been unable to earn the title of biggest selling album of the year. No,that accolade is still held by the Frozen soundtrack, because who doesn't love a singing snowman?!
