Taylor Swift Is Triple-Winner At Country Music Awards

Taylor Swiftwas a triple winner at last night's Country Music Awards, where she was recognised for bringing the genre to a wider audience.

The pop superstar wore a glittery red full-length dress to the annual gong show in Nashville, Tennessee - and was presented with the prestigious Pinnacle Award.

CMAs president Ed Hardy explained Taylor's win in a statement, saying: "I've known Taylor since she was 16. She came to my office with her mom to play her music, and I was amazed. Taylor’s outstanding career epitomizes the definition of the Pinnacle Award.

"[The award was created to recognise] an artist who has achieved both national and international prominence through concert performances and record sales at levels unique in country music. The artist has also attained the highest degree of recognition within the broad expanse of music worldwide."

T-Swift also won the "musical event of the year" and best video awards for Highway Don't Care, her collaboration with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban.

Blake Shelton won the best male and best album categories, while Miranda Lambert won best female and Kacey Musgraves took the best newcomer award.

Florida Georgia Line were also double winners - taking the best duo and single of the year gongs.

T-Swift's people recently denied that she is dating True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard.
