Taylor Swift gave one of her fans a huge surprise this weekend - by attending her bridal shower.

The 22 singer shocked her fan and friend Gena Gabrielle by turning up to her shower on Saturday (12 April).

The happy bride-to-be posted pictures to Instagram of her surprise guest.

She also revealed on Twitter that Taylor defied her management by attending her shower.

The pair had become friends after Gabrielle went to meet her idol at several meet-and-greet events.

Gena later thanked the star for attending the bash.

"Taylor left! But today was amazing! Thank you for making today even more special", she tweeted along with a photo of her and the country star.

She also thanked the singer for the gifts she brought, which included a mixer and a heap of kitchen ware.

"You went above & [beyond] my wildest dreams. I can't thank you enough", she later posted.
