Tina Fey Dishes Out Some Old School Shade To Taylor Swift During ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’
Oh snap.
If you’re anything like us, then you’ve probably already binge-watched the entire second season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix.
Yep, we know, it’s totally amazing. And if you’ve managed to catch episode 9 already, then you might’ve noticed a slight chill come over you during it – and that’s because Tina Fey was busy throwing some subtle shade at Taylor Swift.
Cast your mind back to the 2013 Golden Globes, when Tina and Amy Poehler slayed with their hosting duties.
It was during a (really quite mild) joke about Taylor that the two accidentally entered a Kanye-type feud with the singer, telling her to ‘stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son’.
In an interview with Vanity Fair not long afterwards, Taylor hit back, saying: “There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.”
And hey, it was during episode 9 of UKS that Titus Andromedon utters the exact same words to Kimmy, after she demands to use the shower and kicks his Barbies out of the bathroom mid-perm.
(It makes more sense when you watch it, promise).
In case you didn’t know, Tina’s one of the creators of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and even appears earlier in the episode as a psychiatrist.
Basically, it’s such casual shade that the average person probably wouldn't pick up on it - but you just KNOW Taylor’s going to hear about this.
