Unless you've been off on a desert island with no one but an old volleyball named Wilson to keep you company for the last couple of weeks, you've probably heard about the latest celeb romance in time: Hiddleswift.

With Taylor Swift and new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston's world tour of romance having reached the shores of Australia over the weekend, it was also time for him to give his first interview about his girlfriend.

Unfortunately there's only one word to describe what he has to say about TayTay and that is awkward. SO, SO AWKWARD.

You see, it turns out this interview wasn't very planned and instead a sneaky interviewer from Australia's Channel Nine decided to lurk about outside the apartment block the lovebirds are staying in to try to catch them for a chat.

When Tom emerging for a jog, he ended up being asked how things are going with Taylor and being extraordinarily polite but also having absolutely no idea how to extract himself from the situation, he ended up giving some slightly strangled soundinganswers to the questions.

Asked how she's enjoying the Gold Coast, he gives a strangled laugh and fairly replies: "I'm not going to answer that if that's alright."Then came a question about what the pair intend to do while they're there and looking a little unimpressed, he replied: "I don't know, I'm just glad to be back."

Awks.

For the love of Loki, please make it stop. He's so polite to humour them but that's so cringe we sort of want to crawl under a duvet and never come out.

Just to prove he is a king among men, he did take some pics with the Taylor fans also hanging outside the building, which is all kinds of cute.
