You've Got To See This Cop Grooving To Taylor Swift

Dash-cam captures amazing lip-syncing performance...

We all get a bit carried away listening to our favourite tunes in the car sometimes, and it seems the long arm of the law is no exception.

In-car footage released by Dover Police in Delaware in the US shows one of the force's finest grooving along to Taylor Swift's smash hit Shake It Off as he patrols the streets.

The video begins with the words: "While reviewing dash cam footage, we come across some interesting sights to say the least."

[related]"We decided we would share some with you in a new web series called Dash Cam Confessionals."

Purporting to have been discovered during routine checks, the footage is clearly a publicity stunt - but it's so awesome that we don't even care!

The lip-syncing officer plays the part to perfection - even toning down his act as he waves an unseen person or driver out in front of him - before launching back into full flight once he's not being watched again.

STOP PRESS: The officer involved has now been named as Master Cpl. Jeff Davis - and has spoken to Fox News about the viral clip.

"Yes, I did know that the camera was on," he said. "We had it done just as a publicity thing for not only our police department but police worldwide.

"With all of the negative publicity the police have been getting nationwide and worldwide, I think it was a good thing to show a little, the lighter side of the police.

"We are human and we have a tough job to do. We just wanna kind of make a funny video to show that we're all human."

Mission accomplished Officer Davis!
