A Woman Asked Siri If Her Crush Would Text Her Back And The Results Were Disastrous
Time to launch our phone into the watery depths of the ocean.
Anyone who’s always had a weird distrust of Siri is now entitled to feel smug af after the iOS assistant pretty much destroyed a woman’s love life in space of five seconds.
Our tale really begins with a girl called Ceci Mula, who poured her heart out to the iPhone feature about the fact it could be 1000 years before the guy she fancies ever decides to message her back.
Let's get checking out an update from MTV News...
In a state of sheer desperation, she unlocked her phone and asked Siri if she had any inside information about if or when her crush would ever slide into her DMs.
Tragically, Siri misunderstood the entire command and instead mocked up an iMessage to the guy in question asking if he’d ever make a move on her. And in a panic, Ceci went ahead and pressed send while trying to exit the screen.
She wrote: “I JUST ASKED SIRI IF A CERTAIN BOY WOULD EVER TEXT ME AND SHE SENT A TEXT SAYING WILL YOU EVER TEXT ME TO HIM. My funeral will be held at 8pm this Thursday.”
Because life isn’t a Richard Curtis rom-com, her crush did eventually get back to her with the abrupt message “haha” and soon made his intentions 100% clear by hitting the unfollow button.
On the plus side, Ceci isn’t sitting around drowning her tears in Ben & Jerry’s: “Just want to take the time to thank everyone for their kind words & condolences during these tragic times. For those of you wondering, I did receive a text back & yes I was soon later hit with an unfollow.
“But in the words of our queen mother, Beyoncé (long may she live) BOY BYE.”
