Teen Mom 2's Leah Messer Reveals Aliannah's Diagnosis
Cause of her developmental delays finally revealed in heartbreaking news...
Teen Mom 2’s Leah Messer has revealed that her daughter Aliannah has muscular dystrophy.
“The disorder affects her respiratory system and progresses the older she gets,” Leah told InTouch magazine.
“The bigger she gets and the more weight she gains, the harder it’ll be for her muscles to carry the weight.”
Leah was first aware something was wrong as she watched her 4-year old Aliannah struggle with developmental delays.
It has now been confirmed these were caused by the Aliannah’s rare form of the disease which, tragically, is incurable.
“We were scared because we didn’t know what her future was going to look like, but we always pushed for answers,” Leah explained.
“We never gave up, and we never will. We’ll do everything we can to make sure Ali has the life that she needs.”
The lone silver lining to the diagnosis is that it has helped repair the relationship between Leah and her ex-husband Corey Simms, who is father to Aliannah (Ali) and her twin sister Aleeah.
“Ali’s condition has brought us all extremely close together,” said Leah. “We have to stay strong for Ali, and things are going good.”
