The 1975 Fans React To 'A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships'
Are the fans happy? Is it good enough? Did they live up to our ridiculously high expectations?
The 1975's long-awaited third album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, finally arrived today.
The follow-up to the band's massively successful second album is already being hailed as the greatest British album in recent memory, with another five star review popping up every hour, and it's clear that their success is only going to grow with their latest release.
Music critics are one thing, although impressing your loyal fan base is another ball game. So, what do The 1975 fans think of the album? Yay? Nay? Did the band live up to their expectations?
Saying controversial things just for the hell of it
Selling melanin and then suffocate the black men
Start with misdemeanours and we'll make a business out of them
And we can find out the information, access all the applications
That are hardening positions based on miscommunication
Oh, fuck your feelings! Truth is only hearsay
We're just left to decay, modernity has failed us
And I'd love it if we made it
Yes, I'd love it if we made it
Yes, I'd love it if we made it
Yes, I'd love it if we made it
"And poison me, daddy," I got the Jones right through my bones
Write it on a piece of stone, a beach of drowning three-year olds
Rest in peace Lil Peep, the poetry is in the streets
Jesus save us! Modernity has failed us
And I'd love it if we made it
Yes, I'd love it if we made it
Yes, I'd love it if we made it
Yes, I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
I'd love it if we made it
Tell me something I didn't know
Consultation, degradation
Fossil fueling, masturbation
Immigration, liberal kitsch
Kneeling on a pitch
"I moved on her like a bitch!" Excited to be indicted
Unrequited house with seven pools, "Thank you, Kanye, very cool!"
The war has been incited, and guess what? You're all invited
And you're famous, modernity has failed us
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
Tell me something I didn't know
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
And I'd love it if we made it
Well, the answer is a resounding YES from all stans, it seems.
"Soul shattering". "Magical." Multiple memes of reality TV show contestants screaming and/or crying. The fans have been making their feelings known all day long as they've experienced the album for the first time and beyond, and they also seem to think it's the best album... ever.

"I thought I was prepared for a bunch of bops like the singles. I wasn’t prepared to be emotionally compromised at work," one fan hilariously tweeted. "Well done. #ABIIOR is a masterpiece."
The album was preceded by five singles, including the brilliant 'Sincerity Is Scary' and heartbreakingly gorgeous 'It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)', all of which showcased a completely different side of the band.
The 1975's ability to flex across multiple genres with complete ease, never once seeming like a trend-chasing moment but rather an open pop experimentation, is second to none.
A Brief Inquiry is the first of two new albums they're releasing, as the second part - if you will - is set to be released in May 2019, titled Notes on a Conditional Form.
Their Music For Cars era is set to run for a long time, too, as they will tour both albums around the world from January, when they kick off their world tour in the UK.

Having just announced a headline slot at Glasgow's Summer Sessions for August 2019, they're going to be dominating the festival circuit next year, too. More of The 1975 for everyone!
A Brief Inquiry doesn't only meet our expectations, the album completely exceeded them all, and we are so blessed to have an album so important at this moment.
