This Is Why The 1975's Matty Healy Won't Be Wearing Makeup On Tour
Someone introduce him to YouTube tutorials already
Aside from the fact that it's one hell of a song, one of the best things about new The 1975 single Love Me is the video. It's a pretty trippy one and as well as featuring singer Matty Healy getting frisky with a load of cardboard cut-outs of celebs, it just so happens to have him rocking some amazing blue eye makeup.
“I've always been kind of androgynous to a certain extent, not properly though," Matty tells MTV News about his look. "It seemed perfect for the video, especially with the visual aesthetic, how it looked - the soft blue just being part of my look."
But as much as Matty is loving his makeup in the vid, you won't necessarily see him working a metallic eye or a matte lip when the band head off on tour, although the reason for that one might not be exactly what you're expecting.
He explained: “I haven’t been wearing makeup live, but that’s only because I’m not very good at putting it on."
WHAT. Someone introduce him to Tanya Burr or at the very least the world of YouTube makeup tutorials already. He's guaranteed to be nailing the smokiest of eyes in no time.
As if that wasn't quite enough to be going on with, Matty also revealed that the band actually went as far as to get permission from pals Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles before using cardboard cut-outs of them in the video. That said, Matty didn't actually warn Harry in advance that he was planning to snog his face off.
