Sony Pictures has revealed that it is making The Amazing Spider-Man spin-off movies based on Venom and The Sinister Six.
The studio has announced that the Marvel Comics franchise will be overseen by writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon and Drew Goddard.
And Kurtzman, Orci and Pinkner are already writing the script for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 - while Kurtzman, Orci and Solomon are writing the Venom movie, which Kurtzman is expected to direct.
The Sinister Six is being written by Goddard, who is also in line to direct the project.
The third instalment of the main franchise is scheduled for release on 10 June, 2016 - but dates have not been set for the spin-offs.
Meanwhile [uuid=8b1ce149-758a-44a5-a98a-74440f95695d]the second movie[/uuid] is set to hit cinemas on 18 April, 2014.
