Jamie Foxx To Play Amazing Spider-Man 2 Villain

Jamie Foxxhas confirmed that he has been cast as villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The 44-year-old star told ET: "I met with the director, Marc Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked.

"I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he's a... genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on."

Meanwhile, there has also been an official confirmation of the casting of Dane DeHaan as Peter Parker's best chum Harry Osborn in the movie sequel.

Director Marc Webb tweeted a pic of DeHaan with the caption "Meet Harry Osborn".

They will join Andrew Garfield as Peter/Spidey and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy - with Shailene Woodley also a new arrival as Mary Jane Parker.

The movie is set for release in May 2014.
